Longtime Reporter contributor dies

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – Jack Krier, a longtime contributor to The Reporter newspaper, died last Thursday.

Jack was co-owner of Main Street Media, based in Russell Kansas, which owns 29 newspapers in three states.

According to his business partner Frank Mercer, Jack was in Iowa last Monday (October 9) when he suffered a massive heart attack.

Jack had retired to Warsaw, MO, several years ago to enjoy the easy life.

He became associated with The Reporter newspaper when its founder, Glen Shepherd, began the paper in the 1990’s and has continued to contribute a column “The Town Krier” along with an occasional editorial.

Since his columns are written ahead of time there will be at least one more new one and Reporter Publisher/Owner Dale Johnson said that after those the column may continue for a while with “the best of” digging back to the early years.

Funeral information was not available at press time.

Jack celebrated his 77th birthday on September 24 of this year.
