No surprises in local November 3 election results

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – There were no surprises in the election results in any of the lake area counties (Camden, Miller and Morgan) last week.

In the vote for President of the United States, Donald Trump easily won all three counties. In Camden County he received 75.99 percent of the votes, in Miller County he received 82.08 percent and in Morgan County voters gave him 78.44 percent of the votes.

The race for Governor saw roughly the same percentages for Mike Parson: Camden County gave him 76.17 percent, Miller County 82.82 percent and Morgan County 77.95 percent.

Results for all three counties

Missouri Lieutenant Governor – Mike Kehoe (Republican)

Missouri Secretary of State – John R. (Jay) Ashcroft (Republican)

Missouri State Treasurer – Scott Fitzpatrick (Republican)

Missouri Attorney General – Eric Schmitt (Republican)

Statewide, voters said no to Constitutional Amendment 1, which would have applied the two-term restriction that’s in place for the Governor and Treasurer to the Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor and Attorney General.

Voters did approve Constitutional Amendment 3 which amended the Missouri Constitution to:

Besides winning in the county, all the above names won throughout the state. Donald Trump received 56.826 percent (1,711,848 votes) and Joe Biden received 41.257 percent (1,242,851 votes).

There were some other names running for president in other parties besides Republican and Democrat which account for Trump and Biden’s numbers not adding to 100 percent.
