Morgan County election results

MORGAN COUNTY – Several candidates had competition for their positions in Morgan County, as opposed to Camden and Miller counties.

For Eastern District Commissioner, Republican Brian Lehman was running against Democrat Larry Schmitz. Lehman received 3,408 votes to Schmitz’s 726.

In the race for Western District Commissioner, Republican Ryan Hoffa took in 3,871 votes to Democrat challenger Howard Phillips, who received 1,125 votes.

In the race for Sheriff, Republican incumbent Norman Dills was facing Democrat challenger Mike Nienhuis. Dills received 6,734 votes and Nienuis 2,523.

Running unopposed was:

For U.S. Representative District 4, Republican Vicky Hartzler received 7,313 Morgan County votes as opposed to Democrat Lindsey Simmons (1,762 votes) and Libertarian Steven K. Koonse who brought in 235.

A question on the ballot asked if Supreme Court Judge Patricia Breckenridge be retained in office was approved by Morgan County voters as was the question asking if Western District appeals Judge Tom Chapman should be retained in office.

State voters also approved retaining both judges in their offices.

There were no figures available on the voter turnout percentages for Morgan County.
