Osage Beach partners with Ballparks National
OSAGE BEACH - The Osage Beach Board of Aldermen recently approved an ordinance for a contract with Ballparks National (BPN) to manage the hardball fields and concession stand at the Osage Beach City Park.
Management of the ball fields and concession operation was bid out by the city last month and the Board awarded the contract to BPN at the December 21 meeting. BPN was the only bidder.
BPN will operate the ball fields and concession facilities under a defined schedule for the 2024 season which is from April 1 – October 31, 2024.
The city is hoping that the partnership will enhance softball and baseball opportunities for both youth and adults in Osage Beach.
“This partnership provides added opportunities in sports and park access and usage by our residents and visitors will not be affected,” a city spokesman said. “The parks are open to the public. The city will continue to grow and provide activities and events such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, the annual Fall Festival, numerous food truck festivals, fishing derbies, and much more to come in 2024.”
BPN will pay the city $32,500 immediately once the contract is intimated and $32,500 by June 30, 2024.
The city will also receive five percent of all concession sales, five percent of all gate fees and will receive the current published rate for sports field advertising ($275 for one field/$525 for two fields/$750 for all three fields) and the current published rate for youth league sponsorships ($300 per team).
“We are excited to bring our operational expertise to use on a local level and partner with the City of Osage Beach on their ballpark complex operations,” said Ballparks National General Manager Jeff Vernetti. “We look forward to bringing our staff resources, operational experience, and dedication to this partnership and are excited about the opportunity to enhance participation in local youth sports.”
The Osage Beach City Park is located on Hatchery Road and the city’s other park, Peanick Park, is located on Highway 42.
