Dogwood senior king, queen crowned

CAMDENTON - Delbert and Freda Welch have been crowned the Senior Dogwood Festival King and Queen at a ceremony held at the Camdenton Senior Center last Friday.

The 2017 Senior King and Queen, Russ and Sandy Snearly bid farewell as the new king and queen were crowned.

Sponsored by the Camdenton Senior Center, the Dogwood Festival Senior King and Queen celebrates senior residents in the community which make up an integral part of the population.

“Delbert and Freda Welch are delighted to be given this honor and believe in giving back to the community, a spokesman said. “They dedicate their spare time to the Camdenton Senior Center and Lake Regional Health System Auxiliary.”

Delbert is a Marine Corp Veteran and Freda is a Navy Veteran and were united in marriage during active duty. After retiring from Paramount Liquor and AT&T and later Northwest School District, Delbert and Freda moved to the Lake Area permanently in 2012.

Delbert and Freda will be honored during the Dogwood Festival Parade on Saturday, April 21 in Camdenton.
