Anonymous tip lands man in jail
OSAGE BEACH – A Camdenton man has found himself under arrest – again – on drug charges.
On May 3, city officers received an anonymous tip of an individual identified as Aaron Burns, allegedly selling methamphetamine at Ozark Inn and Suites, 6412 Osage Beach Parkway.
Officers responded to Ozark Inn and Suites and met with Burns and obtained consent to search the room Burns was staying in.
According to the Osage Beach Police Department, while searching the room a bag of hypodermic needles, syringes, a digital scale with white residue and a plastic baggie that contained 2.5 grams of methamphetamine were found.
Burns was arrested and taken to the Camden County Jail to await charges.
He was later charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Prior Drug Offense with bond set at $1,000 cash or $10,000 surety.
Osage Beach officers were assisted by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group. According to the Missouri Courts, Burns has an extensive record of encounters with law enforcement.
In August of 2017 he was arrested and charged with the same offenses as listed above. The court records say he entered a guilty plea to each charge. The sentence of Possession of a Controlled Substance was two years incarceration beginning in April of 2018.
He received a $10 fine for the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
