Robbery Arrest
CAMDEN COUNTY – A 24-year-old Camdenton man is in jail and charged with robbery
in an alleged incident that occurred at a residence located on Claremont Ridge
Road.
According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Department (CCSD) on May 9 at
approximately 10:35 a.m., the Camden County Communications Center received a 911
call in reference to a robbery that just occurred at the residence.
The CCSD described the incident in this way:
A female occupant of the residence was inside while a female friend and children
were outside. A male subject, driving an early 2000 model dark grey four-door
sedan, drove into the driveway and approached the female in the yard. It was
alleged that he was brandishing an unknown type of knife.
The suspect later identified as Joshua N. Seevers, demanded money from victim
number one but that victim had no money so Seevers took a cell phone from the
victim.
He then took victim number one into the residence where victim number two and
the children were located. A teenager inside ran from the residence, entered her
vehicle and left the area, returning sometime later.
Seevers then asked victim number two for money. According to victim number two,
she attempted to grab the knife from the suspect and he attempted to grab a cell
phone from victim number two and then left the residence in the dark grey
vehicle.
Victim number one’s phone was discarded and found in the yard of a neighbor.
Seevers, of Camdenton, is being held at the Camden County Detention Center on a
$50,000 cash bond and is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action,
Burglary 1st Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
No one was injured in the incident.
