Woman dies in one-vehicle accident on Route D

CAMDEN COUNTY – A 79-year-old female has been killed in a one-vehicle accident last week on Route D just north of Liberty Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), last Wednesday (May 10) at approximately 8:30 a.m., Nancy Reynolds, of Camdenton, was northbound on Route D when the vehicle, a 2005 GM Envoy, traveled off the left side of the road, down an embankment and into the lake.

She was wearing a safety device.

This was fatality number 24 for Troop F this year.

In addition, three females were injured in a separate accident on Route 5 at Bear Paw the next day.

According to the MSHP, a 2016 GMC Terrain was southbound when it made an improper U-turn into the path of a 2007 Dodge Nitro, which then struck the GMC.

Both vehicles received extensive damage.

Injured in the Dodge Nitro was the driver, Ruth Smith, 69, of Stover, who received minor injuries and occupant Janet Adkins, 74, of Gravois Mills who received moderate injuries. Both were wearing a safety device.

The driver of the GMC, Teryl Broeker, 60, of Ewing, MO, also received minor injuries and was wearing a safety device.

Smith was transported by Camden County Ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital while the other two sought medical attention on their own
