New F.A.S.T. making arrests
MORGAN COUNTY – The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has established a new law enforcement team.
The newly created “Fugitive Apprehension Security Team” (F.A.S.T.) was deployed on their first mission last Tuesday (August 15) and made three warrant arrests.
Kirk R. Sumner, of Versailles, MO, was arrested on a Full Extradition Felony Warrant out of Morgan County for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (two counts).
Candace M. Sumner, of Versailles, MO, was arrested on a Full Extradition Felony Warrant out of Morgan County for Possession of Controlled Substance.
Matthew J Young, of Stover, MO, was arrested on two Full Extradition Felony Warrants one for Dangerous Drugs – Possession of Controlled Substance out of St. Louis County and one for Amphetamine out of Pettis County.
The next day the team arrested Dakota Flach, of Versailles, MO, for a Full Extradition No Bond Felony Warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance.
Last Thursday, Gary J. Aragon, Jr., was arrested on a Full Extradition two Class E Felony No Bond Warrants for Probation Violation for DWI Persistent, Driving While Revoked and a Class A Misdemeanor for Harassment 2nd Degree.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the mission statement of the team is:
The Fugitive Apprehension Security Team (F.A.S.T.) was formed to enhance the Sheriff’s Office capabilities by providing specialized or directed patrol assignments, surveillance, fugitive apprehension, and conducting other special law enforcement functions as needed.
The Fugitive Apprehension Security Team is a proactive unit of deputies designed to seek out fugitives and persons involved in criminal activity who represent a threat to the community.
The unit also works any special investigations as directed by the Sheriff or division commander. We keep the same level of service to our residents while increasing our ability to remove dangerous people from the streets.
The F.A.S.T. may be utilized whenever any of the following situations occurs anywhere within the borders of Morgan County, at the request of another agency or county Sheriff, as approved by the Sheriff of Morgan County, or if the Sheriff of Morgan County requests the team:
1. Arrests of subjects with felony or misdemeanor warrants issued in Morgan County.
2. Arrests of subjects with extraditable felony or misdemeanor warrants from other agencies.
3. Arrests of persons of interest or suspects that do not have an active arrest warrant but are evading law enforcement arrest or interview.
4. Surveillance operations to conduct and assist in investigations.
5. Any other task or operation as assigned by the Sheriff
