Fall Festival and Citywide Garage Sale scheduled

OSAGE BEACH - The city will be holding annual events on consecutive Saturdays starting with the Fall Festival on Sept. 6 and ending with the Citywide Garage Sale on Sept. 13.

This year’s festival will once again be held at the City Park from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“The 14th Annual Fall Festival is a free community event hosted by the city of Osage Beach,” a city spokesman said, “(and is) a perfect event for families.”

Live music events include:
* Heart to Heart at 1 p.m.;
* Denim & Lace Band at 3 p.m.; and
* Travis Lodge Band at 6 p.m.

A wide variety of displays and information booths will be manned by local fire, police and EMS personnel along with Missouri Department of Conservation activities ranging from pellet shooting, archery and Dutch Oven cooking demonstrations.

Arts & crafts and vendor booths will also be on display.

The park’s playground equipment will go hand-in-hand with other children’s activities including “inflatables” and a petting zoo.

Other festival attractions will include the perennial Bow Wow contest at 12 noon (with sign up beginning at 10 a.m.) and a LOZ Community Dance performance at 11 a.m.

The annual citywide garage sale - set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. - is in its sixth year and continues to be a popular event for residents and visitors.

Maps with a list of participating locations (in addition to the parking lot at City Hall) will be available at the city’s website (www.osagebeach.org), Central Bank, KK Eagle Stop and at the City Hall parking lot the day of the event.

“This day of fun will also include Rummage Bingo,” the spokesman said. “Visit 10 of the participating garage sales, get your bingo card stamped and return to City Hall to be entered for awesome prizes.”

Bingo cards can be found on the garage sale map as well as the city’s website. Bingo cards may be dropped off at the city’s utility bill box after hours.

“All cards must be received by 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16,” the spokesman added. “(The) grand prize is a ‘Taste of the Lake” basket of goodies.”
