Woman dies in accident

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – A Linn Creek woman is dead after a one-vehicle accident last Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) at 1:24 p.m. on Route A near County Road Lowell Williams in Camden County, a 2016 Jeep Compass, driven by Teresa Richardson, 61, of Linn Creek, MO, was westbound when the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway, went off the left side of the road and hit an embankment.

The Jeep traveled through the embankment and hit a tree.

Richardson was pronounced dead at 3:26 p.m. by Camden County Medical Examiner Floyd Handy. She was wearing a seat belt.

This is Troop F’s 11th fatality for September and number 59 for the year.
 
In other accidents last week:

On Sunday September 26 at 7:05 a.m. a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was being driven by Jeffrey Hill, 37, of Eldon, MO on Rock Hollow Road just north of Woods Road in Miller County when the car swerved to avoid hitting a deer, ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Hill suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle had moderate damage.

Last Wednesday a motorcycle accident left a Gravois Mill man with serious injuries.

According to the MSHP, at 7:06 p.m. a 2007 Yamaha Stratoliner, driven by Robert Martin, 78, of Gravois Mills, Mo, was traveling south on Georgia Road north of Ginger Road in Morgan County when the bike went off the right side of the road and hit a telephone junction box and overturned.

Martin received serious injuries and was transported by MU Aircraft to University Hospital. He was wearing a helmet. The motorcycle had moderate damage.

A two-vehicle accident last Friday sent three people to the hospital.

At 7:35 a.m. on Old Eight Road north of Copperfield Road in Morgan County, a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Danielle Conversano, 35, of Gravois Mills, MO, was southbound when, according to the MSHP report, she crossed the center of the road and hit an oncoming 2019 Cadillac XTS driven by Lisa Hibdon, 54, also of Gravois Mills, MO.

Conversano suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. The MSHP said she was not wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in her car, Michael Davis, 45, of Gravois Mills, MO, received moderate injuries and was taken by MU Air Care to University Hospital. The MSHP said he also was not wearing a seat belt.

Hibdon had minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Lake Regional Hospital. She was wearing a seat belt.

The Equinox had extensive damage and the Cadillac moderate damage.
