CAMDEN COUNTY – The results are in from last week’s General Municipal election and Osage Beach voters have decided to fire Mayor John Olivarri and hire Michael Harmison.

In Camden County, Harmison received 279 votes with 13 coming from city voters in Miller County for a total of 292.

Olivarri took in 264 votes in Camden and 17 in Miller for a total of 281.

Olivarri was elected to the top position in 2016.

Sandy Gentry ran unopposed for Ward 2.

For Alderman Ward 3, incumbent Jaron Humiston defeated challenger Latricia Mayer with 43 votes to Mayer’s 29.

In the race for Alderman in Wards 1 and 3, the candidates ran unopposed. Pat Thompson won for Ward 1 and David Ridgely for Ward 3.

There were two positions open for Ward 2, one for a one-year term and the other for a two-year term.

Former Mayor Johnnie Franzeskos was trying to win the position for the two-year term over Sherry Jackson. Jackson brought in 74 votes and Franzeskos brought in 49.

In the race for the other Ward 2 position, Larry Giampa and Krista Watts fought it out with Watts winning with 82 votes to Giampa’s 37.

Richland was also asking voters to approve a Use Tax. The measure received two yes votes in Camden County, zero votes for or against it in Laclede County and Pulaski County results were not released as of press time.

City of Stoutland

Wilma Sherrer was running unopposed for Councilman.

Stoutland also had a question on the ballot asking voters for the right to not hold an election of the number of candidates equal the number of offices open.
